While walking near the village, Steve and Kynthos saw a farmer, Mr. Leo, struggling with a heavy wooden cart. Its back wheel was stuck deep in a muddy rut.
Kynthos, eager to help and wanting everyone to be happy, rushed forward immediately.
He pushed against the heavy cart with all his might, ignoring his own limits, but it wouldn't budge. He quickly became exhausted and sad that he couldn't fix it all by himself.
Steve watched from a distance. He easily figured out the physics of why the wheel was stuck and how leverage could free it.
But Steve stayed put, deciding it wasn't his problem and preferring to keep to his own thoughts.
Grandfather arrived soon after. He stopped Kynthos from exhausting himself further and waved for Steve to come over.
"Steve, a mind that only serves itself is a lonely island. We are made for cooperation. Use your intellect to help your neighbor."
"And Kynthos, you have a good heart, but you cannot carry the world alone. Courage without teamwork is just exhaustion."
Steve nodded and used his logic to find a sturdy branch, wedging it under the wheel as a lever. He pushed down on the lever to lift the cart up.
Kynthos used his strength to push the cart from behind while Mr. Leo pulled and guided it from the front. Working together, they easily elevated the wheel above the rut so the cart could move forward.
Mr. Leo thanked them warmly. As they continued their walk, the brothers realized that true strength comes from working together and combining their different gifts.
