11/14/2011 This week end we went to a small cobble stone street town called Santa Rosa. It is a district that has several branches. First time I have really been cold, I guess it is high elevation or just out in the middle of nowhere. It always seem to be very difficult to find certain things like our hotel or the branch. All of sudden we look to the left and there is our hotel after driving on these one way street up and down hills to just say look there is our hotel. Wow one street people are honking, moms gets out and ask where to park because these streets are very narrow and there is already a line of cars that want me to move. Moms come back and around the corner there is a parking lot that is just for the hotel. Of course there is no sign we had to ask but the thing is we find things a lot better than we did when we lived at home. We asked the hotel clerk for directions to the branch. She didn’t know but the bell boy knew where both branches were. One very close and the other far away. WE went to the branch that the meeting was not going to be at. When we go to the other branch there were about 3 people waiting, then a rapidito pull up and 20 people pilled out of the van. The institute director was an hour late so we started an hour late. I gave my spill on the employment center and this time I realized what I was telling them would not work here because Ldsjobs.org does not have any jobs listed for them in Santa Rosa. But the information on ldsjobs.org can help them and so I tried to tell them about networking because networking is the best way to find a job. Word of mouth by asking everyone you meet that you need and job and if they know of any place hiring. Well my message did not seem to sink in because when the meeting was over I ask someone if they would like to register on ldsjobs.org and they said why. I have a job. I said no it is to help others that you know find a job. By registering you can know how to help other ward members find a job. Sometimes I think people think it is all about me and we don’t think we can help the other person find a job. Its about 3 hours to Santa Rosa and the next morning we drove to Santa Barbara and gave another presentation that was a whole lot different. I feel the Lord gives me little messages for me to follow and I need to do my best to follow them. The message was to help your neighbor find a job. If you have a job then go to your place where you work and ask them if they have any job openings. If they do then bring the job opening to the branch and give it to someone that does not have a job. Try to be mindful of helping members in your branch find jobs. That was it. Very little on ldsjobs.org but mostly on networking. I feel the lord has blessed me and you mom to be able to help some find jobs. I pray that your lives are being blessed by the service we do. We do pray for you all the time so that you guys will have a happy and a blessed life. My life is blessed because of each one of you. You do complete me and I am grateful to be your father and have the opportunity to love you as much as I do. Prayers are answered when we least expect them and many times we think they go unanswered. The scriptures are a good way to find our answers and so is fasting. Something that is very difficult for me to do. We fasted last Sunday to find out how we can improve our mission and to send a letter to the mission president about how we feel our mission is going. We felt to just let the mission president decide what is best for us. No more complaining just do the best we can in the time we have left. I love the Gospel very much and know that if we will trust in him that our lives will be blessed. It is always a two part resolution. We do our part and he does his. When we fall short we can rely on him to take up the slack but we must be willing to do our part. I love you all. Dad
