2012-02-28 - Letter 28 2 2012

2/28/2012 I can’t seem to get certain things out of my mind. Have you ever felt that way? What I mean to say that is that you go through life and specific ideas seem to enter your mind and never seem to go away. You push those thoughts back to the back of your mind and say that someday you will really think about doing something about those thoughts. That you just don’t have time to really deal with it right now or whatever excuse you may come up with. They seem to disappear but come back and you realize that if I don’t deal with this that I will never have peace of mind. I have prayed about those thoughts and have come up with some solutions and the solutions I came up with is to do something about these thoughts. One of those thoughts that I get a lot is that do I love my children enough. In the past it has always been hard to express my love to my children. My parents were not a ones that would show there love in a physical manner or even tell me that they loved me until I was older. I love each one of you and pray for your success in life. That you will be strong in the Gospel and be faithful to who you are. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is True, he did come to this earth and atone for our sins. If we will Repent of our wrong doing then we can live with him again. I have so much to repent of and I want to better job in doing so. I am proud of each one of you and know that with the help of the Savior anything is possible. I have been asked by the Mission President to serve in the capacity of to find and reactivate those members that are living in the branch of Roatan. This thing in the back of mind comes forward and says how can you ever do such a thing when you cannot even do it at home with your children. I know some of you are active and I am so proud of those that are. I am very concern about those that are not active and if they understand the covenants they have made. We all have our free agency but we cannot choose the consequence of those actions that are not in accordance to the savior teachings. I do not want to teach false ideals to those that are here on the inland and lead them to believe I have it all together. I do want to say that this inland has a lot of problems when it comes to morality. Every family we see all the children have different dads and they are single moms. Fathers are absent fathers and do not take care of their children just move one to some else when the girl gets pregnant. There is probably 4 families in the branch that are strong, married and both parents are strong and active and one of those is us. We had 70 or so people show up to church and most of them are single , children and others that don’t have their rights. Can’t serve in the church for what ever reason. That puts a drain on all those can serve. So you see it is hard for me to go out and tell them that your life will be better if you come to church when some of my own children don’t. We met a sister that has not been to church for 14 years and when she was ask to say some thing. She just cried and called the sister angels for finding her. Mom says these words in her testimony. The church needs you and you need the church. She told this to one of the first visits and he came to church and was there last week. Your mothers testimony is one of the strongest I have ever heard. I want to tell you that It is true what you mother says that the church needs you and you need the church. I some time wonder why I am here and if I could ever do the work the lord wants us to do and I have to just get on my knees and ask him for help because we cannot do this alone. I pray with all my heart that you will consider these things that I have said and pray your self to find out what the Lord wants you to do next. Don’t put off what you thoughts tell you to take care of today. I love each one of you and will be grateful to talk with you and hold you lv alwys dad.
