Sorry for not writing an email for a while. We have been transferred to the island of Roatan. A lot is going on in such a short time. On the last day we were in the office, my boss from tegus the capital of Honduras sent his assistant to tie up loose ends. They actually called a local couple to take our place at the last minute to take our place. We have been bugging them for months two and half weeks to find someone to take our place and they did at the last minute. Everything seems to be done at the last minute and I guess they are upset at us for leaving because of the way they have treated us. It doesn’t really matter how they treat us as long as they look beyond who they want to hurt and help the cause. I feel that there feeling got in the way of doing what is right. The new couple is doing a great job and we are so happy that someone is taking over because see the bottom line is the members need jobs and the center is all they got. We finally got the car packed, drove to La Ceiba, stayed the night and got up went to the dock to get on a ship at 10 to go to Roaton. When we got there the captain said it was leaving at 10 pm. So we decided to ship the car over latter and take the fairy across earlier and pick up the car the next day. The fairy was an hour and the captain boat took 7 hours. We made to Roatan just in time for meeting with the sisters. They have a group that meets every Thursday with members and nonmembers that teach them simple truths about the gospel. There was about 20 or so that came. We met our landlord and she went over some of the stuff about the house we are going to live in. It is three house up a terrible dirt road from the church. Very close. The house has three bedrooms all having beds, two plastic tables, 6 chairs, wooden desk and wooden cabinet with a mattress on top for a couch. We have water cooler, stove run by gas cylinders, Refrigerator, two bathrooms one with hot water. No hot water in the kitchen. Its like we are camping. Bugs galore. The house sits on a two lots and so there is room for the car and a lot of fruit trees. Next door to us is an 6 or so apartment building and two story houses behind to prevent any type of view of the ocean. It is very expensive to live here because of all the tourist and nice resorts the prices are very high. They have like three groups of people here. The original are called Garifuna, they are from the Caribbean and speak a cross of English and other languages. Then there is the black Hondurans that speak English and Spanish and then there are the Hondurans from the mainland from San Pedro Sula and the only speak Spanish. We only speak Spanish at the church. It is crazy some times because you don’t know what language to speak. Actually English was the first languages. It depends where on the island you are on which language to speak. They made me the elders quorum president because they don’t have one and mom will be primary president. There is a lot of work to do here and I hope that we can do it. It’s late, we took our p day and went to the other side of the island where the Garifuna live. The ocean is absolutely beautiful and the beaches have tons of Choach shells and some coral. It reminds me of the marshal islands. Its late and I will try to post some pictures on the blog next week when I have time. Lv dad
