1/15/2012 The experience of a life time is the one you are living right now. No one actual says that they have had one experience and it was the experience of a life time. We go back and have another one that is better than we thought the last one was. Sometimes it is better but sometimes it is not. Why do we compare our experience from one to another. Why can we just say that we are just enjoying life to its fullness right now and forever. Do we allow others to be in our thoughts and drag us down? We had a very busy week end with very little rest. We saw Sherlock Holmes in Spanish supposed to be sub titles because we like to watch movies in English. Somehow it sounds different when the real actor does not have his own voice and we understand it better. We went to two birthday parties one from our friend that teaches the self-employment work shop every week. He is actual a Mexican and so he had tacos. Mexican Tacos. It was wonderful. The other birthday party was for Araseli. She was the first person we knew in the employment center looking for a job when we got here. She was there about a month before she landed a job and has been working ever since. Apparently she is a good cook. She made pastel de Tre leche which is a cake from milk. It is kind of a wet cake like. She also made a cheese cake that was prettie good. The reason I talk about food is because good food doesn’t come our way very often unless mom makes it. Mom made fudge this week. So our week end was on the go. On Sunday we went to Medina ward to give a commercial about the employment center. It has been a month since we gave the last commercial and I was pretty rusty and so it didn’t sound very good. Kind of jumpy and did not flow very well. Someone commented that he could not understand my Spanish. I told him that is why we give the flyers because it has everything I talked about. I try not to prepare a specific dialog and just talk freely on the things the Lord wants me to say. Every ward is different here and so I try not to use the same material for every ward. One missionary commented once that I should not read it but just talk about it and so that is what I do. Sometimes I feel I did a good job and other times I feel I blew it but it seems to affect someone there every time we give our commercials. The Gospel is not all learned. There is revelation still to be given to those that are faithful. I pray that I may be faithful so that I can give the words the Lord wants me to give. In my last mission I had a talent to be able to speak on the fly and be blessed to be able to say the things the lord wanted me to say. This mission is so different because I have a hard time to say what I want to say in Spanish. It does not sound the same. I pray one day that I will be able to say exactly what I want in Spanish and be understood. I know the lord has called us here but I know he told us it was not going to be easy. It has not been easy by no means but we do what we can with the tools the Lord gave us. Your mom says just showing up is most of it. People here do not show up. They say they will come but they do not come. Kind of a pet pea of mine to say you will and you don’t is not the way the Lord would do it. We saw a video the other day and it talked about how to deal with your enemies that use you that we are supposed to love them. Well they said. You fight back is to love more. The harder they abuse you the hard you love them back. Fight to love. That had real meaning to me. When we want to fight someone for what he had done to us. Fight to love him more. Can we do that? Yes it is in us but we choose to show him or make him suffer more than he made us suffer. Next time choose to love him more. I know the Lord loves each one of us and wants us to succeed if we only let him in to our hearts. I have so much to repent from and want to be able to be free from sin so I can be a better missionary. I love you kids with all my heart and wish you the best in your lives. Lv alwys Dad
