Raw Unabridged · Chapter 8: Late Voice And Legacy

2015-03-08 - Following A Prompting

Life can bring misery and pain. Sometimes we just want to give up and call it quits. I am done, take me to a better place so that I don’t have to feel this pain. Time has a way of healing that nothing else can do. We wait, live our life and find out that life is not all that bad and hurtful. We can actually do something with our life besides feeling sorry for ourselves. We just need a little bit of common sense to understand that life is what we make it. I remember going to the “Rock” for my son’s 16th birthday. Two of my son and I flew into San Francisco and stayed in an expensive hotel for one night. I didn’t want to pay that high rate to stay in a closet so we drove outside of San Francisco to stay in a more economical hotel. There was a convention and all the hotels were booked. So we kept driving further and further out of the city to find a hotel to stay in. We came to this one hotel and my son (age 10 years old) said. “Dad don’t go in there.” I said, “What?” He said, “I have a feeling and we should leave right now.” I didn’t even think about it. I said okay. We left and drove to the next hotel. I have always thought about that and trusted my son’s ability to follow the Spirit. The Spirit will guide us to higher ground if will listen to that prompting and follow it. This was a simple event but had powerful meaning to me throughout my life. Sometimes we get so wrapped up into our life and think we are in control and fail to realize that the spirit, (Holy Ghost) can help. Just to stop and try to feel if I should be where I am through the Spirit of the Lord. We can invite the Spirit in our prayers and by the way we live. The Spirit has a way to heal our sorrows if we will give it time.
