3/18/2012 Father’s day here is celebrated in March but I want to thank each one of you for remembering me on father’s day. Being a father was the greatest calling I have been given. Being here on a mission and seeing all the absent fathers that seem to have a kid and feel that is being a father. It’s after you have your kid that makes you a father. Anyone can have children but only a few can be a part of their children lives and I feel that is being a father. 95 percent here don’t have a father in their lives. I pray that I can be a good father to you for the rest of your lives. Those memories of raising you are the choicest experiences of my life. I hope that I can enjoy your children as much as I enjoy being with you guys. We do a sort of dance here as mom says. One step forward and two steps back. Once you get people to church you lose others that don’t seem want to continue to go. So the process goes you gain a few and lose a lot more in the process. We will continue to do our best to share the restored gospel to those that will be valiant. I have learned that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true and the principals have to be lived and not just learned. That our action dictates our faith in Christ. We can say whatever we want but it does not matter if we do not do what we say. I get trapped in the bog down feeling that it doesn’t really matter if I do what I say. But it does and the people that are around suffer and you just don’t realize how you affect those around you when you commit and don’t follow through. Everything here is multiplied by 10 or so. When a teacher in Sunday school does not come to church then the other teacher gets dumped on to teach everyone in Sunday. We only have three classes, Gospel doctrine, investigator and young adult/youth. So when the young adult teacher doesn’t show up then the gospel doctrine teacher gets dumped on. It makes more work for some one that has does what they say. If everyone did what they were supposed to then we would have just a little to do. But that is not what happens and others are burden down with more work. Life can get tiring and we just want to give up and not show up. Even all those that are doing all the work get tired to and don’t want to show up any more. Share in the work makes life a whole lot easier. It is all about making commitments and following through with those commitments. If you have changed your mind then let someone know the change. Another way of saying it is to set goals and fulfill those goals. I took the elders to look for shells at the beach today. WE stopped at my favorite place to eat or at least it was my favorite place to eat. Somehow they did not serve the same meal I used to order. I was un satisfied with the food. In a place where they just closed apple bees next door that you would think they would want to serve you good food. I thought about how we serve the gospel to those that know little about us. Do we give them a water down version or are we excited to give them the great news of the restoration. If we sound dull and un exciting then they will not lessen. Lessons that we learn in our life have to be learned and brought to the surface. By being taught by the best teacher which is the Holy spirit we can be able to teach the gospel with convincing power to help those that are ready to hear his word. How does the Holy Spirit teach us? By obeying his commencement we can be able to receive the light of that spirit to teach. Without the light we shall not teach. It is like our lives we need that spirit to help through these tuff times. Everyone has problems but those that do not live he Gospel will not be able to understand how get through it and resort to other measures that are not in the lords plan. We get ourselves into other problems that add up in our lives so that we feel over whelmed. Something happens to get us on the right track and we make commitments and things start going well and we feel that we didn’t have to continue those commitment’s anymore because everything is okay. Well the Lord is very patience with us and for gives us when we follow the steps of repentance but in the process we don’ get back to where we should be. This process becomes a life time event to return where we should be. The journey we take will be worth any effort we make to be where we know we should be. It is not just double talk it is the real thing. I know each one of you can do whatever you set your mind to do. Just never give up on yourself or the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Gospel is true and I know for a surety if you follow the principle of the Gospel your life will be better and those around will be better too. I hope you understand my words and I pray that I put to practice any advice I give you. Lv alwys Dad
