2012-03-02 - Letter 3 2 2012
3/2/2012 Pres came by today and took some of our furniture. It looking mighty grim our, furniture in our apartment. We are leaving for the island on Wednesday and it seems nothing has been done to replace us or try to keep the going. It’s like they wait for a missionary to come and take care of their needs instead of take care of their own. Every time I turn around there is a lesson to be learn here for me. Do I take care of my own? Sure I go to church and I do what are am asked but do I go beyond what is required of me? Do I serve my fellow man and help him out so to speak? I cannot answer that question because I feel I should have done a lot more. I know that the work we did was not done by us. Two weeks ago my solid teacher for the self-employment class was not so solid anymore and he called and said he would not make It. One person showed and I starting teaching myself the first section. I said this in one of my last emails. Well Hermana Ruth showed up and took over. I thought I could never teach this class. Never is a word that rings a bell with satin and he tries to change that never. So it happened again and my solid and my Ruth was not coming to teach. 3 people showed and two others two came late that night. It is the hardest section which is the financing your business. I stayed up last the night before trying to understand the concept because numbers just don’t seem to hit me that well. It wasn’t until the next day after the employment centered was closed and I took your mother out to Mono’s that it hit me. That I needed to teach 3 packages of numbers, one was how much do you need a month to survive, the other the initial cost of starting up a business and the third was what would be your monthly cost to run the business. Add the three together and double the monthly business expense because you need one month in reserves. That is the number you need to borrow, save, get investors or partners to start. I said a little prayer so that the lord would help me teach this in Spanish. After two hours my mouth was dry and the response was, when is the next class. I felt so grateful because I could not have taught that class without the help of the Lord. After every one left I thanked the Lord for helping me do what I did. I cannot say enough about how much the Lord has blessed me and each time I start to complain about something. Whatever I complained about seems to turn out better that I thought it would have it was done my way. I know the Lord know best and I pray for patience that I may learn to wait for his guidance. The Gospel is so true and it is more than going to church and being a good boy or good girl. It about giving of yourself when you don’t want to or you have nothing left in the tank. You pray and pick yourself up and go to work and that is when miracles seem to happen. It’s easy to love those that love you but to love those that do not love you is much harder. Or people you don’t even know or want to have any part of you. To put out your hand of help and ask the best question ever and that is, Can I help you? The Lord always has his arms open for us to let him help us with any problem we might have. He set the perfect example for all of us and what did they do to repay him. They hung him on a cross, killed him and what did he say. Forgive them for they know not what they do. I pray each of us will know what we are doing and we will continue to follow truth when it is presented to us. I have grown closer to my Savior and I know now that he is there for each of us. Be safe and be true to who you are. Lv alwys Dad
