The other day I was thinking about how I can make life better for those around me. I get myself into situations that I just wonder how I got here. I look at myself and think what am I doing. Let me explain. The other day we went to go see Tomorrow Land at the movies. I used my Zion card and they are supposed to give you a discount. When I looked at my receipt the discount was not on there so I ask to what look like a manager. Am I supposed to get a discount for using my Zion’s card? She looked busy and like I was bothering her. She says. “Did you ask for a discount”? I said No. I didn’t know I needed to ask for it to get the discount. She says well there are so many discounts we cannot keep up with all of them. You have to ask. I said okay are you going to give my discount. She said I will this time but you have to ask next time to get it. I lean over the counter and said, “Who do you Honor the customer or yourself? She said I really don’t want to get into it with you. By that time I almost lost it. But I kept my cool and walked away and left my wife to get my discount. When my wife returned every question I asked her reply was the answered yes. Was she rude? Yes. Could she of handle the problem better? Yes. Was it good for me to leave? Yes. But you could have been nicer. I thought about that and how I was going to ruin our night out because of some one that just was not nice. How can we love those that use us and are rude to us? The answer is the Savior’s love. Go beyond our selves and look at the person you are dealing with and realize that he is a brother of sister and maybe having a bad day. I have learn in the Temple to not to rush to judgment. Give yourself time so that you can act in the way the Savoir would be proud. The savior’s love radiates from his presence and when he spoke you knew you were fed with wisdom. . In each situation we are involved with we have that opportunity to do just that. I have a secret that has help me and I just learn about it just recently and don’t know if it will work with anyone else but it is the frame of mind you are in. Change your attitude and try to involve other people than just the one you are with. The chose I made to attack this theater manager involved my wife and those that were around the situation. Most never knew the reason but they knew how angry I was. Did I offend my wife? Yes. So this is what I have come up with. I smile and sometimes I smile inside at those that try to offend me and I will not let that happen. A wise servant gave a talk about choose not to be offended. I know that the savior used that a lot because he saw the good in us. The Gospel in True and the Church is made up of imperfect people that may have offended you or others. Just smile more often and choose not to be offended and be a part of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Your life will be so much better when your attitude is good.
