Raw Unabridged · Chapter 7: Honduras And Second-Service Years

2011-12-17 - Letter 17 12 2011

12/17/2011 Been an interesting week here in. It has been really slow and it seems we are doing so much more for the mission home. We had the Christmas party for the missionaries and it didn’t really seem like Christmas. Mom plays Christmas music like 24- 7 and it is nice to hear the songs. Silent night always hits me hard because it is Grandma Boverts favorite song. They sang it at the First Presidency Christmas devotional of which we lessen to it in Spanish with very bad sound quality. It was hard enough to understand let alone with the speaker cracking and the every few seconds it stops to reload. I finally got up and walk to the back of the chapel and looked out the window and then they sang Silent night in English. I sat staring out the window thinking about the promise Grandma Bovert gave me before she died. That she would come and see me after she died to let me know if I was right about the church. She still has not come and I wondered how she is doing as I sang Silent night. It is kind of a devotion to her whenever I hear that song. I remember singing that song to here when we went caroling with the Weinstocks. She would always ask us to sing that to her. Life never stops and time passes by way to fast. I had a thought some time afterward and it was why we are still here and it is to share our selves to the ones we love. Our words, our feelings and our emotions. It is only express as a point of view and those that receive that point of view have an opportunity to agree with it or not but when you are gone. That point of view gets distorted and lost in how or what was expressed. The impact of someone life does make a difference on you only if you choose to make changes in your own life. I call those people Hero’s. Those that have impacted my life and are dead are heroes. My father was one of my Hero’s that I hope to someday to see and talk with and I hope that he will tell me that he is proud of me. Hero’s never die or at least there works never die. The Savoir is another one of my Hero’s. We are celebrating his birthday in the next couple of days. He has so much love for all of us that to try to be the kind of person he is, I drop down to my knee’s and pray for help because I just don’t how I could ever be like that and I know I should. Each time \I make a mistake I kick myself but I need to kick myself before the mistake and live like he lived or lives. My Savoir has always been hard for me to emulate and I pray for guidance that I can learn how to emulate him but each time I fall short. I know that some time when I am just to tired to continue here I pray for strength and I get the task done and I get back on my knee and thank him for taking over. I really don’t know how but it seems to get done. The other day we were in La Ceiba and we planned a 5 minute presentation about what we do here and that is find work for the members and non-members. Well I could not find my talk. The Lord came to my aid and as I sat down I realized that I had presented what the Lord wanted me to present and it was prettie much different than what my talk was going to be. I have had several of those types of experiences that confirm the truth of the gospel. It was not me that gave that presentation and I take no credit for what the Lord has done. I pray I may stay close that spirit to be worth to be able to have that to be with me always. It is not the case here I fall short many time and I am grateful to at least have it with me some times. I believe with all my heart that this church is true. Those that can accept it here, it will be better for them but they can receive that opportunity when they die. No other plan on earth makes more sense than the plan of salvation or the plan of happiness. It just makes sense and how anyone can ever deny its truthfulness. No other plan is more fair than the Lord’s plan. I love you guys with all my heart. Stay close to your family no matter where you are in life. Lv alwys Dad
