2011-11-05 - Letter To President Veirs
11/5/2011 Our mission here in San Pedro Sula Honduras to work in the employment office has been a little frustrating. We feel the volunteer center should be run by volunteers and we have asked the Stake Presidents for volunteers for months for volunteers and only one has given us a volunteer. The center in only 10’ x 18’ with three computer stations and when there is more that 6 people in the center we bump into each other as we move. We have been told we would receive a bigger place when we got here. Our leader in Tegucigalpa does not return emails and is very unorganized. WE have discussed things that would make the center better and to have better communication. The communication has gotten worse. When he wants something we do it but when we ask for things it does not get done or takes a long time to get resolved. We feel closed in and stuck in a an office that should be run by Volunteers. Several months ago the mission president suggested a transfer out of the center for 6 months and then return to the center. This seemed to be a great idea for the leaders to realize the importance of staffing the center with volunteers because when we finish our mission they will be faced with the same problem but with this ideas we will be coming back and helping out. We feel that the mission president can use it us in different places and be more effective.
