12/16/2011 Josh. I want to wish you a merry Christmas. Christmas is a time that we remember Christ and what he has done for us. i\ feel some times Christmas was to much in the presents mode to really understand what a real Christmas is. Family and being with family is what Christmas is all about and this Christmas will not be that way. I was reading in Jacob chapter 2 that talks about how to become wealthy and what to do with the money when we are wealthy. Something I felt I would of done good if I was wealthy but ya know the lord knows all. He knows our heart and what we would do and some time he lets us struggle to gain a understanding of who is in charge. And I am not saying that bad things only happen bad people but the good ones know how to handle bad things better. Because they have a perspective that is better than the ones that are bad. It this world we live in with crime all around us I wonder how someone can even possible be good or even think that life can get better. The church is so awesome because even here the gospel is true and members believe in the principles that dictate happiness. Selfness service is one principle that has been hard for me to follow. To be able to give of yourself without thinking about what is in it for me has been hard for me to do. You know what a mission is and how much stress is put a pond you to be the kind of person every thinks you to be. Living up to that standard has been difficult but today I studied Jacob chapter 5 and my understanding really hit me. Than my family is more important that doing what I am doing here. Somehow I wished that the Lord would bless my family because of my service here. I really don’t know if that has happened and maybe someday I might know but the fact remains that you are my son and I am worried about you. I know you have a testimony and I know you have talent that the Lord has given you to be used for helping others. Your service in the Lord kingdom is the greatest thing you will ever do in this life. I know that to be true and your happiness and you families happiness depends on that. I love you son more that you can possible know but now that you have a child to love. You may begin to understand what that love truly means. You want your kids to be better than you and I think you are and have the potential to do great things here on earth. Your values are one of the most important things you have and when we cross the line into Satins areas we tend to rationalize other points of the gospel because we don’t live the way we should. So we find areas to make excuses of who we are and if fact we are a child of our heavenly father and we can if we want to be like him. Satin brings us into doubt and in chapter 5 of Jacob it talks about what we have been taught and how we gain truth and not to fall into paths that deny that truth. You are the oldest of my sons and carry with you the mantel of the family when I die. Live to be the mantel the lord want you to become and gather the family together always in the paths of righteous. I love you son and will always be your friend. Lv alwsy dad
