[Page 1] Aloha Mom & Dad. I'm sorry I didn't write ya sooner but I've been pretty busy and we're not suppose to write on any other day except Monday. Today is P day. Not fun day but work day: laundry, shopping, cleaning, wash car, etc. By that time ya day is almost over.

We tried to get on a bus this morning but they would not wait for me so they left. Hopefully my companion jumped off the bus just in time. Some people are just plain rude. We were going to play basket ball at the taburnacle in Honolulu.

Dad, tonight is my first discussion, which I'm going to attempt to give a concept.

I'd like to thank ya very much for coming to the airport. That did make my day. It also made the day for my leader too. He told everybody at the mission in Hawaii how I held them up. But he did it in a happy manner.

[Page 2] Ya know it's like paradise over here. Green everything. It's even warmer than California but I'll get used to it. My senior companion is kinda lazy but I think it's because of me. I don't push him, which I will start to do real soon. It's now.

Dad, what was the name of the city we stayed in? I think it's on the other side of the island.

To give ya some idea how I am living, well it's about a 1/2 block to the beach from my house. It's not as close as Uncle Phil's but pretty close. We got four dudes sleeping here, one chap in the front room, two in one bed room, and one other in the other bedroom. We got a small kitchen and a bath room that flushes.

I was in Honolulu by Waikiki beach and their pad has 2 kitchens, 3 bed room[s], 2 study rooms, 2 bathrooms, one front room. What luxury. We're trying to move if we find a place that is in our district.

[Page 3] We're in two ward[s], Waipahu I & II wards. We start in the morning about 7am and get home about 6:30pm because we have to attend two wards. We got about 3 dinner engagement[s] next week.

And we're going to the mission for Christmas. Just before we go we got dinner at 11:00am, then 2pm, then we got at 9pm, then we go to the mission for dinner. Sound pretty good.

P.S. I really do love ya.

Now about finances. What the guys do is they get a checking account at home. Their parent[s] deposit the money. The kid writes a check out of his home bank and deposits it in the Hawaiian Bank, where they have a checking account there, so they can write checks to anyone.

[Page 4] So get me a checking acount in a bank at home. Send me the check. Don't worry I got enough money on me for at least a month and if fact I can stretch it to 3 months but that's stretching it.

I pay 50 bucks a month for my house. I pay 21 bucks for the use of the car. Then I pay for gas about 15 bucks a month. 86 bucks then there's food, phone bill & utilities.

I have a check account in the First Hawaiian Bank. The checks cost me a $4.00 but to write a check it's free. It's there policy. That's all. I'll send one of my return checks.

Elder Johnson my companion says that he can live on 140 a month, got to go. No hurry about money. I'm good for about 1 1/2 months.
