[Page 1] Hafa adai Mom & Dad How's every thing going with ya? Every[thing] slow over here because of a tropical storm. We don't have them too often but when we do it rain like the dickens. I'm going to put together another tape. I'll answer ya letters first okay. I haven't got too much mail this week — all of a sudden four of ya letters came. The Post Office must be screwing up or something.

Do ya really like Dark Canyon? What is there to do? Hunting, fishing, is there any streams like in Mt Lassen Volcanic Park? Remember that nice place we camped at. Was it like that? I remember Idyllwild [Steve's spelling: IDyWild] — that big rock ya jump off of. That's a real cool place.

Bro Wallner received your Disney book and he really enjoyed it. In fact that article or cartoon about the restaurant — well he hung it up in his restaurant.

[Page 2] & He also like those pictures of Disneyland. I [crossed out] told him he should frame them and put them up in his restaurant.

The Weinstocks are going to church. Well Mike is sure going to love ya for it. I haven't heard from him in a long time. Have ya? Keep up the good work on those guys, cause they'll be a great asset to the church. What do they think about missionaries coming over and talking with them? Have a Family home evening and have the missionaries give it. I'm sure they would be glad to. Well ya do what ya thinks best. Okay. Cause ya can tell what they need & I can only give suggestions. Okay.

About Grandma. What does she say about my letters? Why don't she answer my letters? Are they too strong? Give me some advice Mom, Dad — come on?

[Page 3] Dad ya going hunting? → Oh I wish I were home too, with ya at Saddle Spring. Last time we went I got [a] burned hole in my sleeping bag — remember? ha ha.

About Sandy Johnson — I haven't heard much. But the storm we're having could go to the Philippines and rip them up. They say Guam is supposed to have an earthquake real soon. But ya can never know. Sandy is in a very rough situation. They're having typhoons and earthquakes ever since I been on Guam. Hope she comes home in one piece. She will cause the Lord's by her side.

Bill planning to go to Utah in a couple of years. He still hasn't [been able] to sell his restaurant. It will probably be after I get home.

[Page 4] Bill's wife is from Utah — I think Provo. She has all sorts of relatives there. [Then, now —]

Me — I going to have about 10-12 children when I get me a wife. I love children to death. I'm really seriously thinking about adopting some foreign children when I get home.

Is Valerie Alderman writing to Kerry? I hope not! He's had enough problems with Lisa. But I hear Lisa married now. I feel sorry for her on account I know the guy she married, but ya see he can repent and become like a cool guy again. That's what so wonderful about the Lord's plan.

Dad's bowling again. What's ya average Dad — 255 — ? No. I'm not under estimating ya Dad. You're good. I know ya good cause I can feel it in my bones, and my bones don't lie.

Last week Elder [Dent] & [Elder] Groberg (member of the 1st counselors of seventy) came to Guam. Just to see the elders. What do ya think about that? I'll tell ya later in a tape what he said.

[I] would think John & Leslie having a dandy old time. Passing up going to Hawaii.
