Date: 7/7/1977 [Page 1] July 7-77 Dear Bro & Sis Roper, I have wanted to write you for sometime and let you know how much we love your son Elder Roper. He is putting in some long hours on his mission and the results show. Last week four more were baptized. This was a thrill for all of us, and we were especially happy for Elder Roper for he had labored many hours with these people. We have alot of good visits with him and really have learned to love him. [Page 2] As you probably know he has a new companion now and they spend alot of time with us. They seem to get along very well together and have a good time in their labors. This is good. We loved Elder [previous companion name unclear] too. He was called back to the Hawaiian Mission. We have told the Elders they are welcome here anytime. We do enjoy them. We feel we are all very close being so few of us on the island that are members of the Church. [Page 3] You can be grateful to have a son who puts all he has into his calling. He is a humble Elder and the Marshallese people here love him very much. We find those who do not belong to the Church look up to the Elder also. As you can see we think they are very special. I pray the Lord will bless you while your son is serving his call.
