[?]. - A few school-related lines on page 2 are only partly legible; the readable meaning is preserved. [Page 1] Aloha Cindy Hope everything's okay with you. Everything's cool with me. I wish it would never end. I really enjoy your letters and I wish they would never stop. I'm sorry I haven't written for some time, but I've been pretty busy. I've got my first transfer and it's only 3500 miles away from OAHU. It's an island called Guam. It's closer to the P.I. than it is to Hawaii. Not very many people get shipped out there I hear. The very best go. I don't know how I got in that order but I'm leaving this Saturday. My new mailing address is omitted from the public edition. I don't know if I'm happy or not because I've heard about it. Some good, some bad. Look on the map by the P.I. (Philippine[s]). It's only 55 miles all the way around, 33 miles across. It's way smaller than OAHU. [Page 2] Now to answer your letter. I baptized my first kid last Saturday and boy I was scared to death. I was more scared than the kid. What an experience. Sounds like some of the young adults would do, going to a snow party with no snow. Did ya throw dirt at each other? [Several lines here are only partly legible; he appears to ask about Cindy co-teaching, 7th grade, and Gilbert Elementary.] Is that English (reading & comp) 101? What kind of history class? Get a book. I'll start sending some stuff. What do ya put in a scrapbook that might help me? Love always, your friend, Elder Roper
